Hachette Boardgames has acquired a game distributor in a market also served by a distributor acquired by Asmodee. The distributor is 999 Games, based in the Netherlands and serving the Netherlands and Belgium. It sells approximately 2.5 million games each year, and serves over 1,000 retail locations, according to the announcement. Hachette Boardgames operates in France, The United Kingdom, and the Benelux.
Hachette acquired majority control of French distributor Blackrock Games in 2019 (see "Hachette Acquiring").
Asmodee acquired Bergsala Enigma, which served the Benelux and Nordic countries, in 2016 (see "Asmodee Acquires Distributor").
