Funko is the latest company to warn of upcoming price increases, and has detailed some related changes to its products. "Because the Funko community is our priority, we’re opting to absorb a big part of the increase behind the scenes," the announcement said. "But, to keep doing what we do best—delivering high-quality, display-worthy, collector-loved products—we need to make an adjustment."
Funko will pair the price increases with a number of other steps, including “better sculpts and more detailed figures,” and premium packaging printed directly onto the box, the company said.
Although Funko has made efforts to diversify its supply chains to countries other than China in recent years (see "Funko Sees Warning Signs"), other countries to which it has diversified product are also impacted by tariffs (see "Erratic U.S. Tariff Policy").
The company has been battling sales declines, which continued in the U.S. through Q4 (see "Funko Shows Loss").
